IED defused, tragedy averted

Srinagar: A tragedy was averted with the timely detection of a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by militants targeting security personnel in Bandipora district on Friday morning, official sources said.

The IED, planted near a culvert, was detected by the security forces, who were patrolling Kinoosa village.

A bomb squad safely defused it. — PTI
