Bail plea rejected

BANGALORE: The Circuit Bench of the Karnataka High Court in Dharwad on Friday refused to grant bail to seven suspected terrorists.

The petitioners, Asadulla Abubaker, Mohammad Asif, Allabaksh Yadwad, Shakel Mali, Mirza Ahmed Baig, Sayeed Sadiq and Yahya Kammakuti had moved the court for bail.

The State urged the court to reject the bail plea, saying that all the seven accused were wanted for acts of terrorism in several parts of the country. It said the seven had planned and plotted to carry out acts of terrorism and destabilise the country.

Rejecting their bail applications, Justice Ravi Naik said the accused could not as of now be enlarged on bail as they had committed serious offences and faced cases in other parts of the country.
