Big win for Tiruchi

TIRUCHI: An unbeaten third-wicket partnership of 386 between R. Shanmugaraja (218 n.o.) and V. Pradeep Krishna (157 n.o.) was the highlight of Tiruchi’s innings and 83-run win over Sivaganga in a quarterfinal encounter of the TNCA under-22 inter-district cricket tournament. here on Saturday.

Quarterfinals: At Tiruchi: Sivaganga 172 & 165 in 37.2 overs (S.M. Arulanand 36, Vigneshwaran 35, B. Gokulakrishnan five for 64) lost to Tiruchi 420 for two in 90 overs (R. Shanmugaraja 218 n.o., V. Pradeep Krishna 157 n.o.).

At Nagercoil: Kanyakumari 163 & 83 for five in 34.5 overs (Gowjith three for 30) vs. Coimbatore 151 in 56.4 overs (Shajahan 41, W. Antony Dhas five for 49, Godson three for 41). Kanyakumari won by virtue of first innings lead.
