MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s technical committee, chaired by Sunil Gavaskar, has announced the decision to allow State associations to include four ‘guest’ players in the squad for domestic tournaments, though only three will be permitted in the playing XI. The guest player from overseas should have played at least 10 Tests and/or 20 One-Day Internationals, the committee stipulated after a meeting at the Cricket Centre here on Saturday. Four guest playersAccording to a BCCI press release, the State associations will be allowed to include four guest players (from areas outside their jurisdiction) in their squad. One of the four players can be a cricketer from overseas. A maximum of three guest players will be permitted to figure in the playing XI at a given point of time. The last date for the State associations to register guest players will be September 1 every year.
