Thiruvananthapuram: The Communist Marxist Party has welcomed what it calls a new ideological debate in the Communist Party of India (Marxist). In a statement here, CMP central executive member G. Sugunan said this was the first time that the factional fight in the CPI(M) had assumed an ideological colour. The West Bengal unit of the CPI(M) was also caught in an ideological debate, as could be seen by the anti-BJP stand of Somnath Chatterjee and the anti-bandh stand of West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee. — Special Correspondent © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
