Hat-trick by Anoch

Coimbatore: Anoch Kumar scalped six for 22, including a hat-trick, in Sri Ramakrishna Cricket Trust’s (SRCT) nine-wicket win over Red Diamonds Cricket Club in the Canara Bank-CDCA first division league for the Pricol Trophy here on Sunday.

After bundling out its opponent for 142, SRCT scored the required runs with nine wickets to spare. R. Hari Prasad (64) and Bharathi Raja (59 not out) scored half- centuries for the team.

The scores: R.K.S. Kalvi Nilayam ICC 76 in 27 overs (S.D. Kannan four for 14, R. Venkatesh four for 28) lost to Coimbatore Raiders CC 79 for six in 20.5 overs; Jolly Rovers CC 184 for nine in 50 overs (K. Sounderamani 52) bt Arumugam CC 150 in 37.3 overs (K. Rajesh 55); Red Diamonds CC 142 in 36.3 overs (Anoch Kumar six for 22, including hat-trick) lost to Sri Ramakrishna CT 146 for one in 20.2 overs (R. Hari Prasad 64, Bharathi Raja 59 not out); Cosmo Village SA 184 for nine in 45 overs lost to Rainbow CC 189 for eight in 43.1 overs (P. Prem Kumar 45).

Dhanasekar triumphs

K. Dhanasekar with 4.5 points from five rounds emerged the open category champion of the district level chess tournament, organised by the Indian Chess Academy.
