To introduce shop-n-shop concept Eyeing readymade kitchen business NEW DELHI: Kurl-On has decided to venture into providing “home comfort solutions” to its already established loyal brand of consumers aiming to open 20-30 ‘home stores’ in the first phase with majority of them in South Indian cities, considered as its stronghold. Talking to newsmen here recently after receiving the national award instituted by the Coir Industry for 2007-08, Kurl-On Chairman and Managing Director, Sudhakar Pai, said that the company had already unveiled a new range of furniture in South Indian cities and was looking at opening stores that would provide complete home solutions under one roof. “The home solutions industry is huge and we are going to make a big mark in this segment. We plan to introduce shop-n-shop concept in tie-up with leading shopping malls and have also joined hands with Home Town, a leading home solutions company owned by the Kishore Biyani group that also owns Big Bazar and Food Bazar chain,” he added. Mr. Pai said the company had a network of 5,000 stores and was also providing multi-brand products, including mattresses, sofas and even bedspreads and furniture under the company’s flagship stores that go under the brand name Kurlon Nest. “We are looking at opening 20-30 stores during the next one year in South Indian cities and then look towards the Northern Region. The response to the multi-brands has been excellent in South India and we hope that brand loyalty will bring in customers who have been associated with the company and its quality products over the years,” Mr. Pai said. The company was now looking for a partner to enter the readymade kitchen business in order to provide everything from drawing to dinning rooms under one brand name. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
