Jacob flays water tariff increase

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Congress (Jacob) has opposed the Left Democratic Front (LDF)government proposal to hike water tariff.

In a statement here recently, the Kerala Congress (Jacob) leader T.M. Jacob wanted the State government to issue directives to the Kerala Water Authority (KWA) to set up a separate subdivision to collect tariff arrears from government departments, local bodies, public sector undertakings and other commercial establishment as part of its attempts to find resources. In effect, the tariff hike would cover all sections.
