Kidnapping of suspect: four arrested

Thiruvananthapuram: The city police have booked four persons on the charge of kidnapping financial fraud-suspect Sabarinath and extorting cash, gold, diamonds and luxury-class vehicles from him.

City Police Commissioner Ravada Azad Chandrasekhar said the suspects were Sajan Antony, Valiathura branch secretary of the CPI(M); his brother Shyam; Sinu alias Sriraj, cameraman of a regional television news channel; and Krishnakumar alias Kichan of Peroorkada. The police registered the case on the basis of Sabarinath’s confessional statement.
