An array of achievements

The university has set for itself a heavy agenda during its 150th year celebrations. The renovation and restoration of the Senate House was on top of the list.

On the academic front, the university has introduced and expanded courses in soft skills, introduced the choice-based credit system to all affiliated colleges and made industry internships mandatory for students. Student representatives have been brou ght on to the Boards of Studies for the first time in the country.

On the financial side, the university has considerably improved its system of research grants and resource generation. It has established a Rs. 500-crore corpus fund, of which Rs. 200 crore has been deposited.

Eleven Centres of Excellence have been established with the support of Central and State governments.
