Kaundinya, Nimeesh hog limelight

HYDERABAD: A century by Ryan Kaundinya Amuri (110) for Zinda Tilismath and good spell by Nimeesh Reddy (seven for 64) for Gujarathi Cricket Club in different matches were the highlights of the A-Division (two-day) league cricket championship here on Friday.

The scores:

Under-19: Semifinals: Bhavans Jr College ‘B’ 166 (Sai Jagadish 37, Santosh 39, Rahul Ranout four for 50, Mahesh three for 34) lost to Wesley Jr College ‘A’ 167 for four (D. Ravi Teja 66, Sumanth 56).

St. Johm’s Jr College, 383 for nine (A. Akash 36, B. Sandeep 48, Sharat Mudiraj 46, Rajesh 57, Md Fardun 80, Md. Ali 37. Shivshanth four for 102) bt Wesley Jr College ‘B’ 95 (Krishna 37, Parashar three for 15, Sandeep five for four).

A-Division (two-day) league: Zinda Tilismath CC 261 (Ryan Kaundinya Amuri 110, Naveed Siddiqui 53, Sridhar four for 76) bt Gemini Friends 161 (Sridhar 43, Yashwant 40, Nohman four for 24).

Sayi Satya CC 206 (G. V. R. Rohit 68 not out, Nimeesh Reddy seven for 64) lost to Gujarathi 207 for six (Abhishek Shah 73, Laxmi Reddy 45).

CCOB 143 (Ranganath four for 24) lost to SBI 146 for two (Ravi Kumar 72 not out, Pankaj 58).

D-Division: Lucky Xl 104 lost to Shanti Xl 105 for one.

APRS wins trophy

AP Residential School scored a 36-27 win over Sahithya High School in the junior boys’ kabaddi final in the 10th Kargil Victory sports festival organised by Hyderabad YMCA here.

Handball selections

Hyderabad District Handball Association will organise selection trials on September 6 at Gymkhana Grounds to pick the district team for the AP State junior championship to be held in Visakhapatnam from September 12 to1 4. It was also stated that the Ranga Reddy District Handball Association will conduct selection trials for the above State meet at Sanathnagar Mini Stadium on September 7. Football tournament

Tirupati will host to a State-level football knockout tournament for the U.S.L. Challenge Cup at Sri Venkateswara High School grounds from September 10 to 14.

The tournament, organised by Dynamos FC, will feature 16 teams from all over the State. Free board and lodging facilities will be provided to all the outstation teams. The prize money is Rs. 10, 000.
