Ajay clinches honours

HYDERABAD: J. Ajay Sagar of St. Patrick’s School clocked 27.04 seconds to clinch the honours in the senior boys’ 200m in the St. Andrews inter-School athletics meet, here on Saturday.

The results: Senior boys: Long jump: 1. Akshay (CMR School) 4.53m, 2. Mukesh (St. Andrews), 3. Akhil Shukla (St. Andrews). 200m: 1. J. Ajay Sagar (St. Patrick’s) 27.04s, 2. Agni triumphs

Sai Agni Jeevetesh outwitted M. Shivarama Krishna in the boys’ second round of the State under-17 chess championship in Hayathnagar, near here on Saturday.

Important results: Second round: Boys: M. Shivarama Krishna (1) lost to Sai Agni Jeevetesh (2); D. Chanakya (1) lost to K. Anand Reddy (2); G. Mallikarjun (1) lost to Deepthamsh Reddy (2); Raghav Srivastava (2) bt N. Sharath Chandra (1).
