Tennis players and coaches feted

VISAKHAPATNAM: Three young, talented tennis players and their coaches were honoured at the NRI Tennis Academy here recently.

Vinay Kamineni, Kaza Vinayaka Sharma and S.V. Abhishek, chief coach of the academy V. Gopi and fitness coach Srikanth Verma were felicitated at a function. Mayor P. Janardhana Rao, who was the chief guest , promised to extend support to the game .Chairman of NRI Hospitals C. Ranga Rao, secretary of Visakhapatnam District Tennis Association V. Nani Rao, District Sports Development Officer N. Surya Rao and a host of tennis players participated. The NRI Tennis Academy Parents’ Invitation Committee organised the programme .

The District Olympic Association is planning to provide technical and material help to district sports associations and talented, upcoming sportspersons.

This was decided at a meeting of DOA office-bearers.

Also discussed were several sports promotion activities in the district.

DOA president S. Kodandaramaiah presided.

Chairman P.G.V.R. Naidu and others participated.
