VISAKHAPATNAM: Throbbing strobe lights, hazy vision and thumping music - the much-maligned trance music had this and more to offer. The night came out alive at the beachside ‘Trance Form’ event at The Park hotel on Saturday. The event also introduced DJ Ma Faiza to the party circuit of the city who unwrapped the treasures of trance at the hotel. DJ Ma Faiza was born in Africa, grew up in London, but finally evolved as a DJ in India. She is an icon for the emerging hip Indian electronic music scene. Her varied music encompasses many different genres of electronica, from full on melodic psychedelic-trance, progressive daytime grooves to her passion for ethnic and harmonic beats.

The intense rhythms of this totally different genre of music by the side of a surging sea looking up at a star-lit sky and a colossal tropical beach bar setup provided the perfect milieu.

Though trance music is quite new to the city, gradually the energy hypnotised the revellers and they grooved to the rhythms churned out by the DJ. As the evening progressed, it managed to send the weekend revellers into a multi-layered trance.
