Top honour: President Pratibha Patil presenting the National Teachers Award for 2007 to Rev. Bro. Jesuraj at New Delhi on Friday. TIRUCHI: The Principal, Campion Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School in the city, Rev. Bro. Jesuraj has bagged the ‘National Best Teachers’ Award – 2007’. The President Pratibha Patil presented the prestigious award, which carries a purse of Rs.25,000, to Bro. Jesuraj at a function held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, on Friday. Bro. Jesuraj was honoured by the State Government with the Dr. Radhakrishnan Best Teacher Award for 2005-06. He joined the Montfort Brother of St. Gabriel in a young age and started his journey as a teacher at Santhome Higher Secondary School, Chennai in 1986. He later served at St. Joseph’s HSS, Chenglepet; Campion HSS, Tiruchi; R. C. Susai HS, Kalugumalai; St. Peter’s HS, Royapuram; before taking over as Headmaster of Santhome HSS, Chennai in June 2002. While at the helm of affairs in Santhome HSS, he was instrumental in arranging special and night classes for the academically weak students, besides providing them with meals every day.
