HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam on Sunday formally launched an exercise to formulate its election manifesto by studying the promises made by the party president N. Chandrababu Naidu to various sections of people. The meeting was attended by Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, chairman of the election manifesto committee and other members -- Kadiam Srihari, Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao and Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and Kaluva Srinivasulu. The panel decided that they would meet again on September 16 after the proposals at today’s meeting took shape. Mr. Srihari told The Hindu that the committee considered promises by Mr. Naidu during his 117-day Mee Kosam yatra, including the concluding day’s public meeting at Anantapur, Backward Classes Garjana at Warangal, Farmers Garjana at Vijayawada and conventions of SC, ST, BC and Minorities and youth cells of the party in the last few days. After listing out all the promises in a chronological order, the meeting decided that they be classified into policy framework, financial and political categories. It was also decided to consolidate the list by screening the assurances to eliminate repetitions. At a separate meeting, the legislature party of TDP went through old records of Lok Sabha and Punjab Legislative Assembly to formulate the party’s strategy for the special session of the Assembly on September 15 to consider the no confidence motion against Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
