Nanjappa tops Bangalore round

Bangalore: P.D. Nanjappa of C.M.R. National Junior College was the topper of the Bangalore round, while Sarsha K. Shekhar of Jain College won the second place and Ameya Bafna of Billabong High International School won the third position in the Amaron Karting Challenge 2008 Bangalore round, here on Sunday.

About 250 aspirants took part in the two-day qualifying event.

In the final, scheduled in January 2009, they would vie with the other regional finalists for a full scholarship in the Amaron Scholarship Program and represent Team Amaron Pro Racing in the Indian J.K. Tyre Rotax Max Championship and other karting championships in India.

The Scholarship will also earn the winner five training programmes with Meco Motor Sports in between the races. The second placed winner will get a 75 per cent scholarship and the third-placed winner a 50 per cent scholarship.
