Fair showcases flavour of Kerala

CHENNAI: The Madras Kerala Samaj celebrated Onam by organising a fair to showcase the flavour of Kerala.

The fair, which was inaugurated on Saturday, has on offer ‘Wayanadan nendran’ (banana), banana chips, pickles, handloom saris and palada. Traditional art forms Margam Kali, Oppana and Kaikottikali were performed by Kerala Vidyalayam students at the fair.

The fair will be open till September 11, with the Onam celebrations to be held on September 12.

Malayalam actor Suresh Krishna will participate in the Onam celebrations. Samaj secretary K. Unnikrishnan and chairman T.M.R. Panicker participated. The fair is being held at 903 Poonamallee High Road (near Nehru Park).
