Mumbai: Bengal seamer Ashok Dinda has been picked in the 14-member Rest of India team for the five-day Zal Irani Cup match against Delhi to be played at Vadodara from September 24 to 28. The selection committee which met here at the Cricket Centre on Monday packed the middle order slots with Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and V.V.S. Laxman, but it did not consider Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh for the 2008-09 season opener. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the Irani Cup fixture would be a trial match for the four-Test series against Australia. Also the India ‘A’ team for the tri-series against Australia ‘A’ and New Zealand ‘A’ to be played at Hyderabad and Chennai from September 15 to 26 has been announced.
