Comeback King: Roger Federer redeemed a disappointing season by winning the U.S. Open title in New York on Monday. The Swiss world No.2 outplayed Briton Andy Murray 6-2, 7-5, 6-2 in the final to claim his fifth U.S. Open crown and his 13th Grand Slam title. The victory pushed Federer to second place behind American great Pete Sampras, the all-time leader with 14 Grand Slam singles titles. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
