Child goes missing from hospital in Puducherry

PUDUCHERRY: A 40-day-old male child went missing from the Government Maternity Hospital on Tuesday.

The Grand Bazaar police have registered a case of kidnap.According to police, the mother of the child, who belonged to Pudhunagar at T.N. Palayam, had come to the hospital for family planning programme on Monday.

She had left her child with a woman she met in the ward, before going for a check-up on Tuesday morning.

On returning to the ward, she found the woman and the baby missing, the police said.
