Government has special focus on Mysore, says Shobha

Officials to visit hoblis from the third week of September

MYSORE: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Shobha Karandlaje said here on Tuesday that district administration and governance would be taken to the hobli level from the third week of September.

Speaking at a function to mark the 100 days of the BJP Government in the State, Ms. Karandlaje, who is in-charge of Mysore district, said this would ensure that administration and governance reached the grassroots and benefited the people.

Ms. Karandlaje said that officials, including the Deputy Commissioner, would visit the hoblis and she would also attend the hobli-level meetings.

Extolling the performance of the Government, the Minister claimed that it had achieved much and there was more in store. The Government was working with a perspective plan of five years.

Commenting on Mysore, she said the Government had special focus on the cultural city and was in the process of implementing many projects. They included the music university, Rs. 50 crore special development fund sanctioned in the budget for infrastructure development in Mysore, implementation of JNNURM projects, and projecting and promoting Mysore as a tourism destination, among others.The Minister launched four programmes to mark the occasion. They are a 24x7 helpline for PDS ration cardholders (if they notice any anomaly, they can call 08212431112), an upgraded primary health centre at Kadakola with ambulance, raitha bazaar at MUDA Shopping Complex in Vijayanagar, and launch of modernisation work on K.R. Hospital and installation of wireless network system.
