JAIPUR: Prohibitory orders were clamped on Talera town of Bundi district in Rajasthan on Wednesday following clashes between two communities at Jameetpura during the day. About a dozen persons from both the communities were injured in the violence. They have been sent to Maharao Bhimsingh Hospital, Kota, for treatment. According to Bundi SP Om Prakash, the clashes took place at Jameetpura, 22 km from Bundi town, following a dispute on the previous day at a two-wheeler stand. Both the groups indulged in stone- pelting in which few persons sustained injuries. As Talera town is having the folk deity Tejaji’s fair, the authorities, as a precautionary measure, brought the area under Section 144, he said. Mr. Prakash said the situation was under control. Harimohan Sharma, MLA from the neighbouring Hindoli in the district, in a statement appealed to both the communities for maintaining peace. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
