Hyderabad: The police did not get any new leads in the sensational gold jewellery robbery at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport even as the process to compare fingerprints of suspects with the database of State Crime Records Bureau continued. Six fingerprints — four on the plastic box that was used to pack the gold jewellery and two on the knife — were found in the case. The offenders broke the plastic boxes before collecting the jewellery and used the knife to threaten the courier company employees. “The fingerprints on the knife definitely belonged to the accused because they only used it,” an investigator observed. Police believe that the fingerprints collected from the plastic boxes used for packing the jewellery could be either those of the accused or the employees who had packed the jewellery in Mumbai. Cyberabad Police Commissioner S. Prabhakar Reddy said that special teams were probing the case. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
