St. Joseph’s dominates

Chennai: St. Joseph’s College of Engineering won the volleyball (women) and badminton (men) championships, finished runner up in basketball (men), secured the third place in basketball (women) and fourth in kabaddi (men) in the Kongu College of Engineering sports meet held at Perundurai from September 6 to 8.

The results: Volleyball: Women: St. Joseph’s bt Sona Engg 25-2, 25-10; bt SRM 25-17, 25-19, 25-20; bt PKR Engg 25-13, 25-14, 25-20. Final league: St. Joseph’s bt MOP Vaishnav College 27-25, 25-20,17-25,15-25, 15-7. Badminton: Men: St. Joseph’s bt SRM Arts and Science College ,Chennai 3-0 (Vijay Anand bt Subramanian 21-15, 21-9; AlosiyusVijay bt Karthik 21-11, 21-10; Vijay Aand and AlosiyusVijay bt Subramnian and Sameer 21-11, 15-21, 21-8. Basketball: Men: St. Joseph’s bt Sathyabama Univesity 66-61; St. Joseph’s bt GRD 53-49. Final league: St. Joseph’s lost to Jeppiaar 50-58.
