Monsoon ‘vigorous’

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The State is in for further rain on Friday, with the south-west monsoon turning “vigorous” as a result of the low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal coming closer to North Coastal Andhra.

Meteorologists at State Met Office (SMO), however, said sufficient indications were not yet available whether the low pressure area would intensify into a depression. A warning of very heavy rain, valid for Friday, has been issued to the Coastal Andhra and Telangana. Fishermen have been warned against venturing into the sea as it would be “rough”. A forecast from the SMO said strong winds will blow across and along the coast in Coastal Andhra.
