AIADMK plans demonstration

CHENNAI: The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will organise a demonstration at Coimbatore on Saturday to highlight the problem of power crisis.

The agitation will be led by the party’s election wing secretary Pollachi V. Jayaraman. S.M. Velusamy, S.P. Velumani and C. Sivasamy, Coimbatore district functionaries, will participate. The party will also demand resignation of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and Arcot N. Veeraswami.

AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa said Tirupur, with a number of knitwear units, was severely hit by the problem. — Special Correspondent
