Electronic rights issue process mooted

MUMBAI: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Thursday proposed an electronic rights issue process to simplify and streamline the rights issue process, thereby minimising manual intervention and improving the efficiency of the process.

A paper outlining the procedure for a rights issue as envisaged, for electronic trading of rights entitlement, is placed by SEBI on its website. Comments and suggestions are invited by SEBI and it would be sent to SEBI before September 25.
