Chain snatched

VIRUDHUNAGAR: In a daring incident, a youth snatched part of gold chain from a woman, R. Tamilarasi, here in broad daylight on Friday.

The police said that the victim along with her husband Ravichandran, were walking on the Afores Street when the youth pounced on her and pulled the chain.

The culprit managed to flee from the scene with five-and-a-half sovereign, while the remaining seven-and-a-half sovereign got trapped in the woman’s hand. The police said that the accused has been identified as a local youth.
