PSG Polytechnic emerges champion

Coimbatore: PSG Polytechnic College defeated NPA Centenary Polytechnic 4-2 (1-1) via tie-breaker and emerged the champion of the IPAA Coimbatore division football tournament here on Friday.

In the semifinals, PSG scored a hard fought 2-1 win over SRMV Polytechnic and NPA beat Erode Institute of Chemical Technology 3-0.

Professor Bhojan, Government Polytechnic, gave away the prizes.

PKR College of Arts and Science edged out favourite PSGR Krishnammal College 25-23, 25-23, 28-26 to clinch the title in the Bharathiar University inter-collegiate volleyball tournament for women at Perundurai recently.

Nirmala College outplayed Bharathiar University 25-13, 25-16, 25-7 to wrest the third spot.

Kamadhenu College of Arts and Science (KCAS) topped the league table to win the kabaddi title in the Bharathiar University inter-collegiate tournament for men here on Friday.

Sacred Heart College (Tirupattur) defeated American College (Madurai) 1-0 to book a place in the semifinal league of the eighth inter-collegiate hockey tournament, organised by Jamal Mohammed College, in Tiruchi on Saturday.
