CHENNAI: Beginning Monday, Arasu Cable TV Corporation will provide its services in the State, except Chennai metropolitan area as it faces some technical glitches, said its chairman and managing director Brijeshwar Singh on Sunday. As per the plan, ACTC will make a soft launch of its services in Tirunelveli, Vellore and Madurai districts on September 15. Currently, ACTC is beaming 73 channels in Thanjavur and Coimbatore districts. Residents of Chennai Metropolitan area have to wait, probably till November. Mr. Singh said they had been using the tele-network of Indian Railways, BSNL and private players to take the feeds to the Local Cable Operators. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
