NIRD bags Rajbhasha shield

HYDERABAD: The National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD), Rajendranagar, was awarded the Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Shield 2006-07 for the best performance in the implementation of the official language, in connection with the Hindi Day celebrations on Sunday. President Pratibha Patil presented the award to B. K. Sinha, NIRD Director-General, at a function, a release said. –Special Correspondent
