Guwahati: The rhino that strayed out of Manas National Park (MNP) was taken back and released on Monday morning, ending 14 days of tracking by a rescue team of about 100 men. The male rhino strayed from the national park on September 1. MNP Field Director A. Swargiary told The Hindu that rhino was tranquilised at Kalseni in lower Assam’s Baksa district on Sunday evening and was released in the park around 6.30 a.m. on Monday morning. It was then loaded onto a crate and transported on a truck which reached Manas late in the night. He said the rhino was doing fine.
