Abhinav in final

HYDERABAD: C. Abhinav Reddy defeated A. Sai Vardhan Reddy 6-0 in the boys under-eight semifinals of the Hyderabad YMCA Independence Day mini and sub-junior tennis tournament here on Monday.

The results (semifinals): Boys: Under-8: C. Abhinav Reddy bt A. Sai Vardhan Reddy 6-0; A. K. Rohit bt K. Rahul Banerjee 6-2. Under-10: B. Vaishnav bt A. K. Rohit 6-2; Ponnala Siddarth bt T. Sahith 6-3. Under-12: P. Siddarth bt B. Vaishnav 6-2; Jai Sachdev bt Ashray Sunil Kumar 6-3. Under-14: Mohd Numan Hyder bt Parth Kothari 6-3; Joseph Vijay Raj bt Vishal Patel 6-2.

Selection trials

Osmania University will organise selection trials in hockey for men and in table tennis for both men and women on its campus on September 23 from 2.00 p.m. For details call 9848216891.

It was also announced that the inter-college competitions in powerlifting and weightlifting scheduled from September 16 to 18 have been postponed. Fresh dates will be intimated later.

Football coaching

The Premier India Football Academy (PIFA) from Mumbai will conduct a football coaching camp in Hyderabad involving coaches from UK to teach young footballers between the ages of 10 to 18 at Apollo complex, Jubilee Hills, from Oct 9 to 12.
