KOLKATA: Veteran Marxist leader Jyoti Basu was discharged on Tuesday from a city hospital where was admitted on September 7, three days after suffering a fall at his Salt Lake residence. An MRI scan with contrast done on Monday confirmed the findings of earlier CT scans. There was no change in the blood clot in his brain, a medical bulletin issued by the hospital said. It decided to discharge him after taking into consideration his “stable condition.” Mr. Basu will be under the domiciliary care of a team of doctors comprising a neurologist, cardiologist and geriatrician, who will regularly supervise and monitor his health at his residence. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
