Biki Mallick scores five goals for Sukantanagar Vidyaniketan

NEW DELHI: Five goals by Biki Mallick powered Sukantanagar Vidyaniketan (West Bengal) to an 11-0 victory over Air Force Bal Bharati School (Lodhi Road) in the pre-quarterfinals of the sub-junior section in the Subroto Cup football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Tuesday.

Bishal Harijan (3), Amit Roy (2) and Rajkishore Shah scored the other goals for the Bengal team.

Tingnyek nets four

In another match in the same section, Tingnyek slotted home four goals to help Green Wood Higher Secondary School (Nagaland) register a 7-0 victory over DAV Centenary Public School, Jakkal, Haryana. Keyid Wasadplung, Nyuhenio and Akalu were the other scorers.

In the junior section, Boys Sports Company (Bangalore) beat Modern School (Kohima) 2-1. T. Jacki Chand Singh and U. Karunakaran scored in the eighth and 35th minutes for the Bangalore team. Saninlo reduced the margin in the 44th minute.

SAI (Kolkata) got a walkover from Government Senior Secondary School (Neemriwali) as the Haryana team failed to report. — Special Correspondent
