KHAMMAM: A case was booked against the principal of a private school at Ballepalli on the outskirts of the town following complaint of sexual harassment from a group of girl students on Thursday. InvestigationHigh drama marked the preliminary investigation conducted by the police on the school premises. A police team led by a probationary sub divisional police officer, G. Janaki Sharmila, recorded the version of the students who levelled charges against Ravikumar, principal of SFS Schools. As the principal refused to come out of the school, the police picked him up for questioning. Some students tried to prevent his arrest and even attacked media persons. There was mild tension when stones were pelted at the policemen. Khammam sub divisional police officer, Rameshaiah, also reached the spot with additional forces. As the din subsided the principal came out of his chamber and agreed to cooperate with the police. Let offHe was taken to the police station where he was questioned and let off after a case was booked on the basis of the students’ complaint. Ms. Sharmila said the department had been receiving complaints against the principal for quite some time. He had been with the institution for the past three years.
