Bangalore: Two singers, a dancer and a six-year-old with an amazing memory. These were the four winners of the Young Achiever’s Award instituted jointly by the Rotary Club of Bangalore Cantonment and Jayanagar. The four winners are Kirti Ramgopal, Akash, Gurupriya S. and Kaushik K. They received a certificate and a cash prize from Chitra Magimairaj, former World Billiards Champion. Kaushik, who is a first standard student, is participating in the coming International Memory Competition, and is now memorising 1,000 verses of Sankalpas. Akash is the winner of the “Child Prodigy Award” and has already given vocal performances on television channels, All India Radio, and at music festivals including Chalukya Utsav and Karavali Utsav. Gurupriya is a post-graduate student who is the voice behind the cheer song of the IPL Chennai Super Kings team. Her first solo album for Amar Chitra Katha is due for release this month. Kirti is an MBA graduate and has performed at various dance festivals.
