Corporation starts processing electoral rolls applications

SALEM: The Salem Corporation has started processing the forms submitted by the voters for carrying out inclusion, deletion, correction and change of address in the photo electoral rolls (after delimitation) here on Thursday.

After inspecting the exercise, Corporation Commissioner K.S. Palanisamy said that 20,462 persons had applied for inclusion of their names in the electoral rolls in the Salem North assembly segment and 16,791 persons in Salem South assembly constituency.

A total of 11,729 persons from Salem North and 16,559 persons from Salem South had applied for change of address. The details in the forms would be checked before updating them in the database. The Corporation had involved a total of 20 employees for entering the information in the computers. The final photo electoral rolls (after delimitation exercise) would be released, he said.
