Salem Aavin General Manager’s house raided

SALEM: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption on Wednesday carried out a raid on the house of the General Manager, Salem Aavin, and seized cash disproportionate to known sources of income and other documents. The official, Sarveswaran, has been detained for interrogation. DV&AC sources said based on a complaint, a team of officials laid a trap and caught his peon while accepting a bribe from a tanker lorry owner. Later the team searched the official’s house. Police sources claimed they also carried out a search in his house at Nellikuppam in Cuddalore district on Thursday. — Special Correspondent
