Thrilling win for Ratnam High School

VIJAYAWADA: Nellore’s Ratnam High School scored a one-wicket victory over Vijayawada’s NSM Public School while LEM High School, Guntur, registered an 84-run win over East Godavari’s Bhashyam Talent School in the ACA’s inter-district schools tournament here on Thursday.

The scores: NSMPC 84 in 25.2 overs (G. Manoj Kumar three for 23) lost to Ratnam HS 85 for nine in 37.2 overs (V. Anirudh four for 13).

LEMHS 141 in 47 overs (K.S.R.V.M. Sarma three for 40, Sai Santosh three for 12) bt Bhashyam TS 57 in 18.2 overs (P. Sri Krishna three for 14).

SRR & CVR triumphs

Vijayawada’s SRR and CVR College and Nandigama’s KVR College emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s segments respectively in the Acharya Nagarjuna University inter-collegiate archery championship at Siddhartha Engineering College grounds here on Thursday.

ADC takes honours

Aurora Degree College (ADC) posted a 29-run win over Bhavan’s Degree College in the final of the MN Abbasi Trophy inter-collegeiate cricket tournament, organised by Hyderabad Cricket Association, here.

Shyam slams century

G. Shyam Sunder scored 135 as Secretaries XI was bowled out for 267 runs in 87.2 overs in the three-day ACA North Zone under-14 selection match in Visakhapatnam against the President’s XI on Thursday.

In reply, President’s XI was 38 for two at the end of the first day’s play.
