KSCA girls’ under-16 inter-school cricket

Bangalore: The inaugural KSCA girls’ under-16 inter-School cricket tournament will commence here on September 22. The tournament will be played on limited-overs format with matches being 30-overs-a-side.

“We are organising this tournament for the first time and we have got 19 entries and the response has been good. We are also trying for sponsors who can step in and help the tournament,” said Brijesh Patel, KSCA Secretary, in the launch press conference at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, here on Thursday.

K.R. Gayathri, former State player and member of the KSCA Women’s Wing Committee, mentioned the need for support from corporates, media and the public to make the tournament a success.

KSCA Assistant Secretary, Sanjay Desai, and State women’s team coach, Irfan Sait, were also present.

The tournament is also a prelude to the maiden KSCA women’s cricket league, the dates of which will be specified later.

“So far we have got response from Raichur and Bangalore and there have been enquiries from other centres as well for the league,” said a KSCA official. — Principal Correspondent
