CHENNAI: In an act of relentless bravery and prowess, a 50-year-old woman who was stabbed by a robber overpowered him and called the police at SAF Village Tamil Nadu Housing Board quarters here on Friday. The victim was admitted to a private hospital where her condition was said to be stable. According to police sources, a youth approached Suman Malhotra, wife of Malhotra, Additional Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise, on the second floor in ‘B’ Block about 4.30 p.m. seeking financial assistance. Introducing himself to be a friend of a former domestic help, he told Ms. Suman that his wife was sick and he urgently needed some money. While she was trying to explain her inability to help, the suspect stabbed her with a knife and threatened her to part with valuables in the house.
