Super deluxe bus between Tirupur and Ernakulam launched

Easy journey: The newly-introduced bus service between Tirupur and Ernakulam

Tirupur: The members of Kerala Samajam and Kerala Cultural Centre on Friday accorded warm reception to the newly introduced super deluxe bus between Tirupur and Ernakulam.

Only service

At present, this will be the only service operated by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation directly connecting the Tirupur knitwear cluster to any of the destinations in Kerala.

Timings

The bus would start from Ernakulam at 8.45 a.m. everyday and reach here at 2.45 p.m. covering 259 km.

The return journey would commence at 8.10 p.m. to reach Ernakulam at 3.10 a.m.

Travel fare

Official sources said that the one-way journey fare between Tirupur and Ernakulam, was fixed at Rs 190.

At a function held at the New Bus Stand, the members thanked the Kerala and Tamil Nadu Governments for introducing the bus service.

This was a long pending demand of Malayalis residing in the region.

The presidents of Kerala Samajam and Kerala Cultural Centre, K. Murugesan and R Vijayarajan, respectively, presented shawls to the driver and conductor of the bus at the function.
