Saddam wrecks Idukki

KOCHI: Mediumpacer Saddam A. Das took six wickets for 22 runs as host Ernakulam dismissed Idukki for just 75 runs in the Central Zone under-19 inter-district cricket championship which began at the BPCL Kochi Refinery Oval, Ambalamugal, on Saturday.

The championship, a league series of two-day matches, is being played at two venues but no play was possible at the other ground, St Paul’s College, in the match featuring Thrissur and Palakkad. Overnight rain was the spoilsport.

The scores: Idukki 75 in 37.1 overs (Saddam A. Das six for 22) v Ernakulam four for 1 in 3 overs. — Principal Correspondent
