Plan to screen films to over 30,000 students

Festival to be held between October 15 and 22


KARUR: A preparatory meeting to organize a children’s film festival in Karur was held here with District Collector T.N. Venkatesh in the chair.

The district administration and the Children’s Film Society of India would jointly conduct the festival here between October 15 and 22.

Films to be screened

Films such as Chellam, Malli, Adhisaya Kottu, Dubashi and Vetri Padhai that depict, showcase and highlight self confidence, values and virtues would be exhibited in various cinema houses in the district during the festival period, Mr. Venkatesh said.

It has been planned to screen the films to over 30,000 students in the district spread over 45 shows.

Awards and prizes

Meritorious critical appraisal of the films by the children would be rewarded with awards and prizes, he added.

Children’s Film Society of India Distribution Officer Ramakrishnan, Public Relations Officer L. Girirajan and others participated in the deliberations.
