CHENNAI: The country’s top junior squash player Dipika Pallikal has won a nomination for the WISPA ‘Dipika’ award 2008. Dipika, who completes 17 years on Saturday, has been nominated along with Annie Au (Hong Kong), Nour El Tayeb, Heba El Torky (both Egypt) and Low Wee Werne (Malaysia) for this award, which will announced on October 18 during the Hi Tec World Open in Manchester. The members of WISPA, the world body for the women professional players, will vote the winner. Dipika who is backed by the Mittal Champions Trust and Techifibre, was the number one ranked player in the WISPA’s rising stars rankings until this month.
