SAI, Kolkata in semifinals

NEW DELHI: Aiborlang K. Mujat scored two goals as Sports Authority of India, Kolkata, beat Vasant Valley School, Vasant Kunj, 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the junior section in the Subroto Cup football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Monday.

Nikhil Ledlie reduced the margin for the Delhi team.

In another match in the junior section, Town High School, Sundargarh, defeated Government Model Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh, 2-1. Suresh Kujur put the Orissa team ahead in the 31st minute and Bhada Tudu consolidated the position with a goal in the 68th minute.

Pankaj Negi scored the lone goal for the loser in the 70th minute.

Easy win

In the sub-junior section, Green Wood Higher Secondary School, Kohima, scored a 5-0 victory over Namchi Sports Hostel, Sikkim.

Tingnyek (3), Wasadplung and Nyuhenio scored the goals.

St. Ignatius Higher Secondary School, Gumla, recorded a 2-0 victory over Government Kolasib High School, Project Veng, Mizoram.

Mahender Munda and Pradip Lakra scored the goals for the Jharkhand team.
