Junction City: A place among the top 10 slipped through Arjun Atwal’s fingers following a couple of late bogeys and the Orlando-based Indian signed off with two-under 70 to finish tied 14th in the Oregon Golf Classic here. Atwal’s front nine was an incredible string of par shots intercepted by the seventh hole birdie. He birdied the 10th as well and then blasted an eagle on the par-three 15th to go four-under. Things subsequently went awry for him and back-to-back bogeys on the 16th and 17th undid some of the good work and he had to be satisfied sharing the 14th place with eight others at 11-under 277 in the $ (U.S) 500,000 Nationwide Tour event at the Shadow Hills Country Club. — PTI © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
