THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ali Asgar struck a century (110) as host Thiruvananthapuram made 316 on the opening day of the South Zone under-19 inter-district cricket tournament here on Monday.

At stumps, Kottayam was reduced to 65 for four in 22 overs.
